Pick a section: + − (30 questions, mostly easy with about 1 in 5 very hard), × (20: chains of multiplying, then mixed), ÷ (20 division questions) or the order of operations (50 questions). Two special sections start from a number you choose (1–9): Doubling adds the number to itself, then the answer to itself, 20 times (2 + 2 = 4, 4 + 4 = 8, 8 + 8 = 16 … 1,048,576 + 1,048,576 = 2,097,152). Times table runs up the table 20 steps (pick 3: 3 × 4, 3 × 5, 3 × 6…). In the order section, follow BODMAS / PEMDAS: Brackets (Parentheses) first, then Orders / Exponents (powers like 3²), then Division and Multiplication left to right, then Addition and Subtraction left to right. Each question is one level, from basic to hard. Type the answer with your keyboard or the keypad. A wrong answer costs one of 3 lives and shows the steps in the right order.
BODMAS (Brackets, Orders, Division/Multiplication, Addition/Subtraction) and PEMDAS (Parentheses, Exponents, Multiplication/Division, Addition/Subtraction) are the same rule with different names. Mental arithmetic under time pressure uses working memory: you hold part results in mind while you work out the rest. A quick measure of how you did on this test today, on this device. Practice makes you better at the test itself; it is not a medical or IQ test.
