6 levels: answer the ink colour, then the word, with 2 to 5 colours.
Colour words in coloured ink: answer what each level asks
About 3 minutes. Not medical advice. Stop if you feel dizzy, nauseous or strained.
A colour word appears, printed in a colour. Levels 1–3: answer the INK colour, not the word (2, then 3, then 4 colours; 10, 20, 30 seconds). Level 4: answer the WORD, not the ink. Level 5: ink again with 5 colours. Level 6: the word with 5 colours. Click the colour button or press 1–5. To pass a level, get at least 80% right and keep a steady pace.
Reading is automatic, so a word like RED in blue ink slows you down. That slowdown (the Stroop effect) is one of the most repeated findings in psychology. Switching to answering the word changes which habit you must hold back. A quick measure of how you did on this test today, on this device. Practice makes you better at the test itself; it is not a medical or IQ test.
